Jane Brennan, great-granddaughter of Alan Hancock, presented "Recollections of Captain Hancock". This program was held at the Santa Maria Library's Shepard's Hall. Jane's slide show and narration started back in time with Captain Hancock's grandparents and marched forward to today, including a look at what his descendants own today and what plans they have for the future.
Capt. Hancock's history covers much geography and many industries. He bought the Santa Maria Valley Railroad off the courthouse steps in 1925 and built it up along with the entire Santa Maria Valley.
