On Saturday of the Open House and BBQ for the Friends of the SMVRR Railroad, everyone gathered at the railroad headquarters located at the site of the old sugar mill in Betteravia.
While Rob got the BBQ going, Kevin led the group on his famous tour of the Betteravia townsite.

Everyone also got to enjoy the HO module just delivered to the SMVRR office by the San Luis Obispo Model Railroad Association (SLOMRA) for a few days. It depicts an existing scene on today's SMVRR, the Delta Energy depot.
Following lunch was a presentation about the current Santa Maria Valley Railroad's operations and significance to the regional economy.
