Annual Friends BBQ and Open House at the SMVRR on August 19, 2023

The Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad celebrated this years Annual Open House and BBQ hosted by the Santa Maria Valley Railroad on Saturday, August 19 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. There was a full slate of tours and demonstrations along with train rides. A Santa Maria style tri-tip BBQ lunch was served. Locomotive tours and equipment demonstrations by SMVRR employees were given. There was a silent auction and the company store was open -- all of the profits went to the Betty Himoto Memorial Scholarship Fund.
