Friends of Santa Maria Valley Railroad Museum

The Friends Railroad Museum is currently closed and undergoing renovation. Look for our re-opening in late summer and our grand opening during the Central Coast Railroad Festival in early October.

The Friends Railroad Museum is located on S. Miller St. in Santa Maria between the Transit Center and the Santa Maria-Bonita School District Office. You can park in the parking lot just east of the Transit Center via a driveway off of Boone Street. The address of the parking lot is 532 E. Boone Street, Santa Maria, CA 93456. Enter this address into your navigation app (such as Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps) and it will take you to the entrance to the museum parking lot.

On display at the museum are the following pieces of Santa Maria Valley railroad history:
Steam Locomotive 0-4-3T CRI&P #84 (U.S. #1) - 1937 - used at the Betteravia Union Sugar Company
Box Car - Sacramento Northern - Mt. Vernon Mfg. Co. - 1921
